“It gives me immense pleasure to report on our spiritual journey with Logos Bible College. For years, I’ve been searching for a Bible-based curriculum which we could utilize to teach our students in order to prepare them for ministry. In 2010 I contacted Dr Michael and Ps Irene Dalseno who were instrumental in assisting us to establish a Logos Training Centre in Durban, South Africa. What was surprising was that there were no initiation fees required to set up the college, and that we could freely utilize the curriculum within our local context. We were receiving a quality biblical education that was affordable. The ongoing support that we received over the years is commendable.
In 2013 we were graced with a personal visit by Dr and Mrs Dalseno as well as Bro and Mrs Phoon. Seminars were set up in various parts of the city of Durban. The delegates were thoroughly blessed by Dr Dalseno’s interactive teaching. Our local church has been propelled to another level by the preaching and teaching ministry of Mrs Dalseno. The young people especially were captivated by bro and Mrs Phoon’s contribution to the seminars.
Logos Bible School is most definitely impacting our students, our church and our city. As in the parable of Jesus, the sowers sowed the seed, it has fallen on good ground, and we are reaping the harvest thereof. May Logos Bible School continue to be a beacon of hope in the nations of the world.”
“The Bible says, ‘Don't live carelessly, unthinkingly. Make sure you understand what the Master wants.’ The power of focusing can be seen in light. Diffused light has little power or impact, but you can concentrate its energy by focusing it.
With a magnifying glass, the rays of the sun can be focused to set grass or paper on fire. When light is focused even more as a laser beam, it can cut through steel.
There is nothing quite as potent as a focused life, one lived on purpose. The men and women who have made the greatest difference in history were the most focused. For instance, the apostle Paul almost single-handedly spread Christianity throughout the Roman Empire. His secret was a focused life. He said, ‘I am focusing all my energies on this one thing. Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.
I would like to recommend this course to anyone who wants to live a life with a purpose.”
Impact Institute Sri Lanka is a missions training school for young men and women who have dedicated their lives to take the gospel to the four corners of the island. Over the past 5 years, Logos curriculum has been a great benefit to train and equip these young leaders at certificate and diploma levels. The flexibility provided to teach courses in local languages has opened the way for truth to be communicated in the students heart language. Graduates who return to their local churches after training have become a strength and asset to extending the work of the ministry. Two graduates of the latest batch have been assigned to plant new ministries under their local church and the work is progressing at a steady pace. One of them serves as a pastor at a tea estate where over 60 estate workers gather to worship every week. The other graduate has started a house church under her senior pastor and visits homes spreading the gospel making new disciples in the area.
We thank God for the results of these ministries and look forward to hearing many more testimonies in the days to come.
Teaching the Logos program has helped Lloyd and I enlarge our vision for teaching the Word of God (which is our passion)
The program is user friendly and is such a great program to teach. Logos has given our local church the opportunity to offer leadership training it would not otherwise be able to offer. It has enabled our students to see the connections between the Old Testament and the New Testament and become well grounded in the Word. It has also enlarged their capacity to serve the Lord in whatever field of ministry the Lord has placed them in now as well as preparing them for their future ministries.
I am a second-generation pastor in a family of ministers. Both my parents were pastors who pioneered churches all over the Northern mountain regions of the Philippines. Two of my uncles in my father’s side are also pastors who have planted and established many churches. Between the three of them, about a hundred local churches were started and most of them are still in existence to this day. It is no wonder that many of us in my generation in the family have decided to follow in our fathers’ footstep. Two of my cousins are pastors while me and two of my siblings are in full-time ministry. The challenge that I have discovered early on is that the passion for God that many have found when they first encounter Him can only be sustained by being fully absorbed in knowing Him deeper through His words. The fire cannot keep burning by doing more events, camps and conferences, etc. It is only God who can keep the fire burning when there is a genuine love to know Him more as revealed in the scriptures.
It is on this journey of studying the Word that I came across Logos International Leadership College. Their approach resonated with my deep desire to have a program that I can use as a platform to help pastors and church leaders in my region. I am fully aware that most of them did not go through a formal Bible school education and are desperate for help in their ministry. Many pastors simply regurgitate old preaching notes, some feel so discouraged at the seeming ineffectiveness of their pulpit ministry, many church leaders simply go through the motions of ministry. We reached out to Logos and agreed to start a Bible training school in our region. Many pastors came to enroll and affirmed that they have been praying for a program that will not require them to leave their places of ministry in order to study. The positive impact was immediate. There was a renewed fire to go back to the scriptures that was not there before. It was like being given new reading lens that allows one to discover gems and treasures that were overlooked. We already celebrated five (5) years as a Logos school and had three graduations for our many students that included church leaders who works as tribal leaders, law enforcers, public school teachers, pastors, and college students. The vision that God has given to us is to establish firmly the churches that were planted by the generation before us by arming this generation of leaders with tools in understanding and interpreting the scriptures. When a Christian knows the unadulterated truth in the person of Jesus, and applies that truth in virtue and action, that person is not only able to survive the tempest that challenges his faith. He thrives in the storms and he break downs the strongholds of deception and release those who are held in bondage. That is our mission and we intend to fulfill it by God’s grace.
This vision to start a Pentecostal Bible College in Lae City was way back in 1998 by Missionary Pastor Cyril Westbrook. He shared this vision with me when I was Pastoring a local church here in Lae City. It did not eventuate as expected but it took almost 20 years before it came to fulfilled in 2018 December we officially launched the Institute. Which Dr. Michael Dalseno and Rev. Irene Dalseno arrived in Lae for this official launching program.
Prior to that, I met Dr. Dalseno at APTS when he was there to teach us on the Ethics course. He introduced Logos College to us students and I picked it from there and made arrangements with him to establish a college here in Lae City PNG.
It all had worked in God's timing and plan. By February 2019, Trinity Institute had its first pioneer students of six enrolled in to start their theological training.
As the Principal of Trinity Institute, I am blessed to see these students being trained under Trinity International Leadership Institute. Which we are affiliated with Logos International Leadership College to use the courses it has produced. The students are very excited and thankful to be trained at this level and see what God will do in their life and ministry in the future. Yes, we are training future leaders for the work in PNG as well as going to other places in the world.
We very much appreciate Logos International Leadership College for allowing us to be partners in using your theological courses to train and equip PNG leaders for ministry.
Logos vision to expand your training program to other countries is a right direction in God and we applaud this noble vision of yours for the growth and development of God's kingdom. Praise God!
Please continue to pray for us as we embark on our classroom building project for the Institute.
