COURSE QUALITY AND CREDIT TRANSFER

This page will primarily be of interest to students, colleges or other educational bodies who require further information about LOGOS College courses in order to calculate articulation/transfer credit  into their various programs of study

The Directors, Dr Michael and Rev Irene Dalseno, are Individual Members of the Asia Pacific Theological Association (APTA) and hold Ordained Ministry credentials with the Assemblies of God in Malaysia (previously AG in Australia). Logos College has Institutional Membership with APTA. Some of our staff also regularly teach/lecture at Colleges/Seminaries at Diploma, Bachelor, Master, and further post-grad degree levels throughout the region. Dr Dalseno helps to edit Doctoral theses for students in relevant areas of expertise.

The College holds to its core philosophy and belief that Bible college training should be strongly Church-based and need not necessarily exist as an independent entity. There are many models of training, and the model employed by Logos is one that is recognized by Churches and Christian organizations around the world. It has therefore focused on shaping its courses to suit the goals and needs of local churches, and maintaining a solid international core curriculum, rather than compromising those qualities that can sometimes eventuate via the demands and requirements of external agencies. This stance is nothing new, and is very consistent with many successful, and often large, ministry training colleges in the United States in particular. The College serves under the leadership of a highly qualified and experienced academic team who oversee the academic standards, materials, teaching, curriculum and quality reviews of the College. Dr Michael Dalseno, Rev Irene Dalseno, and other local and overseas pastors and academics strongly contribute to the depth and breadth of the faculty. We remain committed as faculty, administrators, and lecturers to the training and equipping of students for life-long service and leadership. We closely adhere to the philosophy of Competency-based training standards in Australia, and have pursued arrangements with some other colleges who have verified that they will accept student transcripts for articulation into their degree programs on a case-by-case basis (see, e.g., Affiliations menu).

For those desiring to transfer into our College courses from another institution, also see the menu; Recognition of Prior Learning.

ADDITIONAL QUALITY REVIEW:

  1. In order to assist with transfer credit information to other colleges and universities, and in order to further underscore our courses with genuine quality, the course subjects and curriculum are designed to match the standards, as listed in the relevant Competencies, Elements of Competency, and applicable Performance Criteria of the respective awards of the Christian Ministry Training Product, Australia.
  2. Different colleges employ different ways of calculating “credits” or “credit hours.” Hence, in order to assist students and transferee colleges with a conversion guide, some specified college curriculum "credits" may need to be calculated in order to provide the approximate equivalent. As a rule of thumb, 1 Logos College Credit is roughly equivalent to 15 hours of classroom leactures, assessments and projects.
  3. The following charts outline the specific Logos subjects that match the Competencies in the Australian Christian Ministry Training Product (CMTP) awards of Certificate IV, Diploma, and Advanced Diploma. Descriptions of the various Competencies from the CMTP are also listed in charts. Not all subjects may be offered in our curriculum at any one time.
  4. The Headquarters for Logos College is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, under the spiritual oversight of First Assembly of God Church, established 1934. The Church is the first AG Church established in Malaysia, its quality and leadership credentials being very well known. Given the overseas location, it is not possible for Logos to function as an Australian CM Training Product, though we continue to maintain and improve its principles.
